Jennifer Bowen shared her research focused on microbes and microbial processes to understand how they facilitate ecosystem functions in salt marshes. She explained that research on microbial communities in this field is still new and her team is looking into how the research can be done, what applications it might have, and what are important next steps to advancing the research.
