Student and Early Career Poster Session

Ready to Share Your Coastal Restoration or Adaptation Work?

We’re inviting students and early career professionals to showcase their ideas, projects, and emerging work at the Cape Coastal Conference Early Career Poster Session! This is your opportunity to share your voice, build connections, and contribute to conversations shaping the future of coastal resilience. Selected presenters will display a poster on Monday, April 13, 2026.

What kinds of topics fit?  If your work touches any of the themes below then we want to hear about it.

  • Restore salt marshes, wetlands, and seagrass
  • Advance the beneficial use of dredged materials
  • Strengthen biodiversity
  • Diversify local commercial fishing economies
  • Develop practical, equitable strategies for flood adaptation
  • Measure project success and long-term resilience

Who should apply?  Students (undergraduate or graduate) or professionals in their current role two years or less.

Do I need completed research?  Not at all. You can share:

  • Research findings
  • Early-stage or emerging ideas
  • Lessons learned from projects
  • On-the-ground experiences
  • A challenge you’re grappling with and want feedback on

Step Forward and Share Your Work – This is your chance to connect with leaders, collaborators, and fellow early-career professionals who care about building resilient coastal communities. This session is designed to spark conversation and connection and not just showcase finished work. We encourage you to submit and bring your ideas to the conversation.

How do I submit?  Contact: Kristen Weir, Training & Engagement coordinator at kristen.weir@mass.gov.
