COMMUNITY MEETING ON FISH PASSAGE AT ROUTE 130
Join us for a community conversation about improving fish passage, coldwater habitat, and public safety on the Mashpee River at the Route 130 crossing. Engineers and project partners will share preliminary design plans to:
- Improve fish passage for river herring, brook trout, and other native species
- Construct a naturalized river channel under the roadway
- Identify values and share ideas about historic Mill Pond for consideration in
restoration design - Remove the aging dam and fish ladder at Route 130
- Reduce flood risk and increase climate resilience
- Lower future operating and maintenance costs
This is an opportunity to see draft design concepts, ask questions, and help shape
the next phase of design.
