Jim Tang, Kevin Kroeger, and Melanie Garate presented on the Bringing Wetlands to Market project which is exploring greenhouse gas exchange in salt marshes and the nitrogen impacts on that exchange. They explained the team’s innovative approaches to measuring vertical and lateral fluxes of carbon and greenhouse gasses in different conditions (e.g. temporal, tidal). They also described research to determine if there are simple proxies (e.g. plants) for determining vertical greenhouse gas fluxes in salt marshes.
